I personally think that the reason why so many people make ridiculous New Year’s resolutions is, because of too much indulgence in food and drinks during the Christmas holidays. Well, call me a critic but not behaving responsibly around food or spirits and beverages can ruin your physical figure – not to mention your health and well-being. So, it’s okay to get those carbohydrates off of your body afterwards.
What experts are saying about food and food intake
The food and drinks served in December most likely composed of oil, fat, sugar and a lot of salt, which can be harmful when consumed in excess of the recommended intake is the reason for major concern among the medical community. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 17.3 million people around the world die every year due to cardiovascular diseases. It is evident that food intake is one of the main reasons why people suffer from such illnesses. Being unable to control excessive eating might cause stroke, heart attack, aneurysm and even sudden death.
Here are 5 easy steps to backload carbohydrates from your system:
Proper diet is a must
Everything starts with a proper diet, meaning you eat the right kind of food daily. So, start by avoiding too much of fatty and oily foods. Eat green leafy vegetables every day to increase metabolism. Also, include protein and fruits in your meal for muscle power, healing and building your body strong. Now you’re off to a right start and although it will be an uphill battle from here, if you stay the course, then you’ll certainly be fit and healthy soon. Make sure to observe your calorie intake too.
Workout and train your body
Even brisk walking for 20 – 30 minutes a day is considered as a good workout. This helps the nerves of your body to get going like a car engine and byproduct is sweat and some body toxins that you do not want to store in your body for too long. Go to the gym and lift some weights, train hard to sculpt and shape up; or you can do Tae-Bo, Zumba, Pilates, Paleo and more! Stretching your joints and muscles get helps get rid of back and muscle pains.
Drink enough water
The standard 8 glasses of water a day still applies in this case and it hasn’t changed, unless, I don’t know…we evolve into some kind of aquatic ape creature maybe? Joking aside, not having enough fluids in your body can cause certain related conditions such as dehydration, nausea and vomiting. So, always take the doctor’s advice about rehydrating yourself.
Getting enough sleep is one of the best ways to regulate your neurons and also replenish the cells in your body. According to studies, your body regenerates and fixes itself when you sleep. Having a good 6 – 8 hours of sleep every day will make you feel brand new. Being a night owl has some disadvantages too! The more you sleep late, the more neurons you lose, which can never be repaired when damage. Try to get more sleep as much as you can.
Release the stress
You can drink tea as a way to refresh yourself and release stress and toxic in your body. Tea is well-known source of antioxidants and contains a lot of health benefits. Brew your own cup and enjoy it on a daily basis. You have a lot of choices on what kind of tea you prefer. Popular teas include green tea, black tea, red tea, mint tea, chamomile and more.
There are a lot of things you can do to make things work for your health, especially this year. Do not let illness cut your soon-to-have adventures. Start being healthy and enjoy life.
